Musica Dolce, Wednesday, June 1, 2005 Musica Dolce, an outreach performing arm of the Society, performed a program of Renaissance or Baroque music for the Friends of the New Brunswick Public Library in the Community Room of the New Brunswick Public Library in NJ.

Musica Dolce, an outreach performing group, consisting of recorder, cello and harpsichord, performed in the Unity Bank in Highland Park, an evening of "Baroque Music to Lift the Spirit," by the composers George Frideric Handel, Johann Fischer, Jacques Paisible, Jean Baptiste Loeillet de Gant, Tomaso Albinoni, Benedetto Marcello, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Members of the Highland Park Recorder Society and Musica Dolce performed "Music from the Age of Benjamin Franklin." The performance took place in the New Brunswick Free Public Library in NJ.

The Highland Park Recorder Society, Musica Dolce and Friends, performed "Music of the American Baroque and Big Band Eras" at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ . There were performances by three distinct groups. Members of the Highland Park Recorder Society, including an ensemble of soprano, alto, tenor and bass recorders, performed music by American and European composers, that was heard in Colonial and Federal America in the time of Benjamin Franklin. Musica Dolce performed Baroque chamber music on recorder, violin, cello, and harpsichord. Dean Poulsen (keyboard) and friends Sal Damico (trumpet) and Ralph Albano (percussion) performed music from the "Swing Era." This music included the whole gamut - old boogie woogie and stride, and favorite tunes by Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Fats Waller and Duke Ellington. The Highland Park Recorder Society, Musica Dolce, and The New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home invited the public to attend.

Musica Dolce, an outreach performing group consisting of recorder, violin, cello and harpsichord had performed at Unity Bank in Highland Park, an evening of "Baroque Music to Lift the Spirit," by the composers Tomaso Albinoni, Benedetto Marcello, Johann Joachim Quantz, Henry Purcell, and Antonio Vivaldi.

Musica Dolce, a member of the Guild for Early Music, had participated, along with other member groups, in an event sponsored by the Guild for Early Music--"Early Music Festival," at the Grounds for Sculpture, 18 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton, New Jersey. Musica Dolce had performed music by Albinoni (1671-1751) for recorder, cello and harpsichord, and by Vivaldi (1678-1741) for recorder, violin, cello and harpsichord.

Two members of Musica Dolce, Janet Walker, cello, and Dean Poulsen, keyboard, played a holiday concert: "Popular and Light Classical Music" for the Alliance for Retired Americans at the Highland Park Senior Center at 220 South Sixth Avenue.
Sunday, October 19, 2008. Guild for Early Music Festival 12 PM – 5:30 PM
Musica Dolce of the Highland Park Recorder Society performed the splendid music of Georg Phillipp Telemann, Francisco Jose de Castro, and Arcangelo Corelli. Over ten extraordinary vocal and instrumental groups specializing in early music performed in this festival.

May 12, 1999.
Sunday, June 6, 1999. Highland Park Day at the Zimmerli Art Museum. Highland Park Recorder Society and Chamber Orchestra members performed in the Kusakabe-Griffis Japonisme Gallery.
A Sunday in August, 1999. Members of the Highland Park Recorder Society and Chamber Orchestra performed a program of Renaissance and folk music in the bandshell in Donaldson Park.
Nov. 21, 1999. In celebration of the newly published Highland Park Artist Registry 1999, the second Artist Directory published by the Highland Park Arts Commission, the Commission invited the Highland Park Recorder Society to perform at a reception in the Highland Park Public Library.
Saturday, May 20, 2000. The HPRS performed as part of a Benefit Concert organized by the Princeton Area Friends of Tibet, to benefit the Jampaling Tibetan Refugee School in Pokhara, Nepal. Conducted by Bob Butts, the musicians were drawn from three of his orchestras: Highland Park Recorder Society and Chamber Orchestra, the Baroque Orchestra of Boonton, and Skylands Youth Symphony.
Tuesday Feb. 13, 2001. Mike Markwis and Donna Messer performed eighteenth century music to introduce a talk on Sir Harry and Lady Frankland of Boston,, an eighteenth century couple, at the Highland Park Public Library.
Sunday, March 18, 2001. A consort of the Highland Park Recorder Society, consisting of Mike Markwis, guest conductor of the Recorder Society; Lou Dutter, former Board member and former professional musician; Peter Guarnaccia; and Donna Messer all on recorders, and John Burkhalter, virtuoso recorderist, performed at the Metuchen Public Library.
Thursday, June 7, 2001. A quartet of musicians who had played with the Garden State Sinfonia, and who represented the Highland Park Recorder Society: Peter Guarnaccia and Donna Messer on recorders, and LuBove Schnabel and Bill Holaday on strings, performed at Very Special Arts, NJ, at Middlesex County College, as noted above.
February, 2001. The Highland Park Recorder Society displayed all kinds and sizes of recorders - sopranino, soprano, alto, and tenor Baroque-style instruments, bass, a set of Renaissance instruments (soprano, alto, tenor), and a pictorial History of the Recorder in Music, in the entrance area of the Highland Park Public Library, for one month. All the instruments on loan for the exhibit were from the collection of Donna Messer.
Jan 21, 2002. Baroque trio performance of Handel Sonata for alto recorder (Donna Messer), cello (Janet Walker, cellist with the Garden State Sinfonia), and harpsichord (Dean Poulsen, keyboardist, performer, on the Reilly Middle School music faculty), at Reilly Middle School, Elizabeth, N.J.
April 15, 2002: Semi-final orchestral rehearsal, Joseph Kohn Rehabilitation Center for the Blind.
June 2002. Outreach solo performance demonstrations of Recorders Through Music History, for 100 7th and 8th grade students, and teachers, at Reilly Middle School, Elizabeth, N.J.
June 2002. The same pictorial History of the Recorder in Music, that had been displayed in the Highland Park Public Library in throughout February, 2001, was displayed in the classroom where the solo performance demonstrations took place at Reilly Middle School, and this history was described and explained to the students just before the demonstration.
Thursday, October 23, 2003. Musica Dolce presented an evening of Baroque
Music in the Unity Bank, at Highland Park's Autumn in the Park event. The
program included music of Albinoni, Marcello, Loeillet, Buxtehude,
Telemann, Scarlatti and Bach.
November 30, 2003. Musica Dolce and Friends performed Baroque and Christmas Music to Lift the Spirit following an Advent Night Church Supper in the United Methodist Church in New Brunswick. The program included music of Buxtehude, Marcello, Loeillet, Albinoni, and the rarely heard Telemann Concerto a Tré for recorder, French horn, and basso continuo.
February, 2004. Donna gave a mini-lecture with visual aids on the Recorder through Music History, to an ethnicly diverse fifth grade class in Elmora School 12, in Elizabeth, NJ, and performed examples of music through the centuries, on bass, tenor, alto, soprano and sopranino recorders to illustrate medieval., Renaissance, and Baroque music, and Hebrew, Irish, and English folk music. Of the 22 children present, there were two Asian, one Causasian, one Haitian, one African American, and thirteen Hispanic children. Some children danced spontaneously to the music.
Wednesday, March 17, 2004, St. Patrick's Day, Donna Messer performed for the teachers at the St. Patrick's Day Teachers' Luncheon in Elmora School 12, Elizabeth. She played a set of Irish and English folk tunes from the Playford Collection, published in 1650, and they were enthusiastically received.
Wednesday, May 12, 2004, Musica Dolce, performed a Spring Baroque Concert, in honor of one of its new residents, Professor Emeritus Werner Boehm, and for residents, guests, and staff, at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway at 6:30 in the evening. Residents from the Parker Home facility in New Brunswick were bussed in to attend this concert. The program included music of Fischer, Albinoni, Marcello, Scarlatti, Telemann, Bach and Handel.
Tuesday, May 25, 2004, Musica Dolce trio and a recorder quartet of the Highland Park Recorder Society performed Renaissance and Baroque music at the 20th Annual Statewide "Partners in the Arts" Very Special Arts Festival, at Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey.
Saturday, May 29, 2004, two groups performed on for residents, staff, spouses, and guests at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway. A recorder quintet performed Renaissance, Baroque, and folk music under the baton of Conductor John Eisenhauer, and members of Musica Dolce performed Baroque Music to Lift the Spirit, for recorder and cello. The program included music of Frescobaldi, Willaert, Gilbert, Fischer, Albinoni, Praetorius and Handel.
Thursday, October 21, 2004, Musica Dolce presented an evening of Baroque Music in the Unity Bank, at Highland Park's Autumn in the Park event. The program included music of Albinoni, Loeillet, Paisible, Fischer, Bach and Handel.
