Alexei Yavtuhovich
Alexei Yavtuhovich was born in Belarus, earned a B.A. at Sokolovsky’s Musical College and a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the Belarusian Academy of Music in Minsk, Belarus. He graduated in 1995 specialized in violin and chamber music performance. At age 17, Alexei became a winner of the Republic of Belarus National Young Violinists competition. As a member of the Belarus State Concert Orchestra, the prestigious Belarus State Chamber Orchestra, and the Belarus String Quartet, he performed internationally in Ukraine, Russia, Germany,France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and other European countries.
Since his emigration to USA in 1996, Alexei devoted himself to different areas from coaching and mentoring youth hockey players around New Jersey to IT services. Over 20 years his is proudly serving community at Township of Old Bridge as Network Administrator. In 2015 Alexei restarted his artistic career and performed with multiple programs in Tri-State area, toured back in Belarus as soloist with Gomel Chamber Orchestra. In 2018 Alexei founded Collegium Musicum and became organization’s President and Artistic Director. In addition, he has organized concerts throughout New Jersey, including many that contributed to Ukraine relief programs. Since 2019 he has been organizing and producing “Artistic Remembrance - Voices from the Holocaust”. These ongoing multi-year projects are dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Terezin (Theresienstadt) concentration camp 1941 - 1945 and reveal the history of cultural activities in Terezin as well as music from the Holocaust. Alexei Yavtuhovich continues to perform at many community festivals and events as a soloist, concert master for orchestras and member of varied chamber music groups.
