7th Annual Festival of the Guild for Early Music, featuring music of the 12th to 18th centuries

Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 12 – 5 P.M., you are invited to the 7thAnnual Festival of the Guild for Early Music, an afternoon of mini concerts, taking place at the Grounds for Sculpture (GFS), 18 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton, NJ. 08619.

It will feature Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music, sung and played by over ten extraordinary vocal and instrumental ensembles, and conclude with a “petting zoo” of historical instruments for you to touch and play. This year’s theme, “Light and Dark,” will offer performances on harpsichord, viola da gamba, recorder, violin, cello, harp, flute, Baroque strings, sackbut, cornetto and percussion. Themed “Light and Dark” sculpture tours of the park will also take place.

The Baroque ensemble of the Highland Park Recorder Society, Musica Dolce members Momo Kusaka and Donna Messer on recorders, Lea Karpman on violin, Janet Walker on cello, and Minju Lee on harpsichord will perform Phénix by Michel Corrette, and other music. All are welcome!
